Folders are floppy-disk relics. Now every doc, commit or chat is a node in a graph that ignores silos—edges link Slack → Drive → GitHub. We retrieve by relationships, not paths: open = query, edit = change context. The filesystem is dead; long live the knowledge graph.

indeed directories/folders were always a skeuomorphism from the file cabinet era knowledge graphs alone might lean too much on the opposite side of the spectrum: too loose and fragmented across sources. there’s a sweet spot in the middle where nodes and edges in subgraphs are aggregated to have contextual meaning. the tooling isn’t there yet though. there will always be a need to have collections of collections and label/name them
