after just a couple days of using Opus 4.5 for non-coding tasks (ie. journaling), i feel pretty comfortable saying that it is really good at calling me on my shit, and therefore feels much more trustworthy when it validates me. i thought Sonnet 4.5 was really good at this too, fwiw. i got plenty of pushback. but Opus seems to reason about more complicated emotional issues in a more nuanced way. Haiku is notably not good at this. doesn't glaze, but misses the mark about what's actually going on.
