The thing about content is that it is worthless. The only price that people are willing to pay consume that content is the mild annoyance of ads. And any premium sub is paid to remove the ads. Even the biggest traditional creators probably wouldn’t command a $1.99 monthly fee. The platforms make money via scale. Millions of mildly interested viewers who endure ads provide the value. If you try and disrupt that model, the monetary value of any given creator is a few dollars. Anything above that is pure speculation. I get the ambition to disrupt the big content platforms but content itself is inherently worthless and only in aggregate does it begin to create value and only then it accrues to the platform.
