@toly Some thoughts after yesterday’s Solana downtime: 1. We were back up pretty dang fast - the social coordination layer allowed this 2. There’s a flip side to this. The majority of validators immediately updated their systems, before the code was thoroughly looked over by outside sources.

This is concerning. We need to remember that trust is something to be avoided. Even if an organization is “trusted”, auditing and considering code takes time. Switching to the latest build for the entire network in a matter of hours is… it’s too fast. We need a better system that allows us to avoid this trust.
