“I want to live in a society where banning something requires a clear story about harm or risk imposed on clearly identified victims, and if that story is successfully challenged in court then the law is repealed.” Does this escape the “the moral fabric of society", "social stability" justification problem? There will always be a victim and perceived harm/risk. Maybe it’s the balancing act of finding a middle ground. I am optimistic that, with the right cultural mindset, we will crack this one day.
