Midnight at the 24-Hour Library
Not many people know that our city has a 24-hour library — a quiet sanctuary for insomniacs, students, and dreamers alike. Walking in at midnight feels like entering a secret world. The lights are softer, the footsteps quieter, and the atmosphere… almost sacred.
I found a corner by the large glass windows where the city lights glittered outside. Around me, a few others sat with their books — a man in a suit reading science fiction, a student surrounded by open notebooks, and an older woman flipping through a cookbook as if planning an imaginary feast.
Time doesn’t move the same way here. Hours pass in pages, not minutes. When I finally left at 3 a.m., I realized I hadn’t spoken a single word, yet I felt completely connected — to the authors, to the stories, and to every silent reader who had shared the night with me.
