Nobody owes anything to anybody. "Giving back to users" is just a marketing tactic. Platforms and users extract utility from each other. Users get utility from platforms, grow their audience, find niches, become content creators, what have you. Web2 platforms pay content creators when they become moat for such platform. Meaning that if you leave that platform, you would take your users with you. I think that its fair to demand better platforms, and better incentives, but in order to do that you need to understand business models, roadmaps, and whether the moat is in the userbase, or where is it.

Another lovely algorithm update🙄🙄 This most recent one by @v downgraded the visibility and rewards for people with small circles of regular fans opting instead to push fresh accounts with new and unknown engagement. Supposedly to stop farming🤷‍♂️I mean, it also murders small art accounts like ours, but try telling them that. We should start our own bot farms so at least it looks like we’re cool🤔🤔

Been thinking about how blockchains / infrastructure are to bring users to apps. I really think web3 really warped our brains. It's like expecting AWS bringing users to Amazon, or Mastercard bringing people to businesses.
