Mitsukeru coded Chrome LinkSentinel Update - The What's New After 1.4.2 (which all investors got access to)
We made the extension stronger against scams, safer for crypto users, faster, and easier to use.
# Better Protection from Scams & Phishing
- Spots fake login pages trying to steal passwords or crypto seed phrases
- Checks website icons (favicons) to catch copycat scam sites pretending to be real banks or crypto services
- Blocks tricky redirects that hide bad links behind trusted names
- Stops fake domain names that look almost identical to real ones (homograph attacks)
# Extra Safety for Crypto & Wallets
- Warns you before signing dangerous crypto transactions (catches common wallet drainers)
- Scans QR codes on pages and blocks ones that lead to scam sites
- Stops you from accidentally pasting your seed phrase/recovery words into the wrong place
# Smarter Warnings
- If we already flagged a link in your Discord or Telegram messages, the warning page now tells you exactly where we saw it before
- Carefully checks ads on Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo so you don't click malicious ones
# Under-the-Hood Improvements
- Faster blocking using built-in browser tools (more private too)
- Better protection against certain hacking tricks inside the extension
# Speed Boosts
- Smarter caching so checks happen quicker
- Fewer unnecessary requests to the browser
- Groups link checks together instead of one-by-one
# Easier to Understand & More Private
- Warnings now show clear risk levels: Critical, High, Medium, Low
- Block page explains exactly why something was stopped (e.g. "domain is only 5 days old" or "no proper email setup")
- You control how long we keep history (default: 30 days, auto-deletes old stuff)
- Buttons to wipe history or reset everything
This update makes LinkSentinel catch more real-world scams (especially crypto ones), feel snappier, and explain threats in plain English.
