Tokenization is where the internet was in 1996” sounds dramatic, but it’s actually the perfect comparison.
In 1996 the internet worked — pages loaded, email sent, infrastructure was solid. Adoption was just tiny. Amazon had only sold $16M of books. Google didn’t exist. Neither did Facebook or Netflix. The skeptics weren’t wrong about the rough edges… just the trajectory.
Tokenization today feels exactly the same.
Ethereum has moved trillions with 100% uptime through 17 upgrades. Stablecoins do $5T a year. BlackRock is running a $2.3B tokenized treasury. RWAs onchain? Roughly $30B.
Real usage, real rails — but still early relative to where this is headed.
