Being open about my struggles with mental health has helped me immensely.
It's something I always have to think about if I don't want to lose the battle.
It's helped me to think that others read my stories and maybe find comfort and/or try my own coping techniques.
Things I'm currently needing to tell myself:
- "This is only temporary"
Making true logical statements help me stay sane. Your mind is your own worse enemy at times and you must find a way to stay grounded. Good logic is hard to refute making this coping mechanism extremely effective.
- "One day at a time"
Mom Burr says this to me all of the time and she's right. Thinking about 1 day is easier than thinking about 10.
- "it's okay to not be okay"
I have to keep reminding myself that we are all allowed to NOT BE OKAY. I promise you, you are not alone. Sometimes we're just not okay. Shit sucks, how could it get worse? (I don't recommend asking the universe that one ☠️) but give yourself permission to feel fucking awful.
Just writing this all out made me feel better. Thanks for reading and being on this journey with me.
We will all be okay (eventually) (maybe) ❤️
