Venture capital is the closest thing we have to medieval patronage.
But instead of funding monasteries to preserve scripture, we fund 23-year-olds to build apps that make people read less.

Man, I know what I was doing at 23 and there's no way you could've handed me millions of dollars and gotten a positive outcome.
