Weekend Highs / Lows
1. Recently potted up tomatoes are growing well. Some years we have our first round in the ground by now; this is not one of those springs.
2. Found a bloated deer tick that has likely been attached for 2-3 days; went to a clinic to get a Rx for doxycycline since I don’t want to mess with Lyme disease which is present in ridiculously high levels in our town. Like legit certain neighborhoods, one in two people I know have had Lyme. Don’t love to use antibiotics except when it makes real good sense.
3. 23 degrees on Sunday morning - the tomatoes pictured above were just fine in their “hot box”. Might be the last night we flirt with 20 here this year; another 5-6 weeks before last frost.
4. Took a couple of the kids to go see the Providence Bruins and watch the next Bruins star (we hope) James Hagens skate. Lost 4-2 yet was a fun game and outing.
Not pictured -
skipped Palm Sunday services to take on Sunday morning farm work with dry conditions not guaranteed in the week ahead.
Missed most of the basketball excitement this weekend.
Spent Saturday on the farm as well: as we slide into 6-7 day workweeks til fall.
