My mom is on a journey… in April she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of uterine cancer; in short order was scheduled for a hysterectomy + … surgery went well and although cancer hadn’t reached the lymph nodes; it was on its way. So 6 cycles of chemo and then radiation was set up. First chemo session was mid June and supposed to be every 3 weeks, but then her cell count crashed and they decided her port was infected so she was hospitalized and given IV antibiotics. Second cycle of chemo was rescheduled, yet again her “counts” last week were still too low… today numbers were in a better range and she received the second of six planned infusions. All along the way docs & nurses have been absolutely top notch. While we traveled to Boston for the surgery, her chemo is at facility in her town, which is nice. It’s the busiest of busy seasons (not including the summer’s our kids were born) and I’m balancing a bit of care as I am able. Here’s hoping she’s on the right track.
