Snapshot reflection on Base trenches February 10 2026 Reality… we have long ago entered “the microwave hot potato” market where trading is more rewarded than holding. General base ecosystem mirrors the greater crypto space at the moment… beyond the reality that majors drive overall sentiment and they have greatly struggled since 10.10 there is a smaller rotation of capital chasing shorter lived trades. $bnkr and the lobster coins have clearly been carrying the load and momentum the past few weeks and although BNKR has struggled to enter into true price discovery a bit of chop around 100M might set it up nice for a run. Liquidity has been growing a bit, which allows bigger traders to enter. Time will tell if those same folks are willing to patiently hold or will look for a smaller multiple and quicker exit. Amongst the lobsters there is rotation that provides opportunity yet the space is still forming, and no sure bet has emerged. I am staying clear of big token unlocks from sputtering teams, ahem $Zora and never felt like I really grasped the opportunities within the virtual eco - see $KTA, $REI & $TIBBIR - all clearly have vocal supporters and potential upside. I’m fully out of base memes - as I don’t see base memes gaining traction from new capital entering the space. If pudgy penguin can’t drive MC with all their broader efforts not sure toshi or doginme on base will either. One exception would be $DRB ‘cause @grok has money. Competing capital flowing toward perps (hype) eco, metals, options and prediction markets woo future constrict upside for our precious crypto tokens. Would love to bid strong tokens in the base system around Defi - like $well and $aero, yet defi has historically underperformed as so much of the valuation in crypto is based in ethereal notions, and when you start to value based on real income and cash flows the valuations tend to come closer to earth (see AAVE). See also $veil - which provides utility yet don’t see how it is a good trade, unless whole base eco doesn’t expands by multiples. I don’t trade leverage, so haven’t been in or out on tbd belle of the ball on any L2 known as $HYPE Whole list of tokens that I won’t touch B3, ELSA, LMTS because teams haven’t proven themselves, or turned me off with their actions and/or comms. Clanker is in a grey zone. Alas. And most of my favorite clankers are struggling with both attention and low volume - still rooting for $betr $bracky, $clankermon, $qr and hope indexy still keeps shipping. Other tokens are clouded through personal experience; got absolutely rinsed entering $Noice in November so they would have to do backflips while flipping pancakes on ice for me to get excited to re-enter that trade. And there are quite a few other tickers in this category of “do not enter” What did I miss… maybe I should hitch my ride to one or two lobsters to have something to root for in the coming weeks.
