Okay Sunday afternoon Lunch-Scroll-Trade break is done back to regularly scheduled programming Another round of head lettuce going in the ground this afternoon. A double planting of ~1200 heads. We are in peak lettuce planting mode for the high summer harvests (mid July > Labor Day). Have another double planting going in later this week, then we settle into a rhythm of 1x, 1x, 2x, 1x, 1x, 2x - aka a double planting every three weeks. Provides insurance against bolting, deer pressure (if they get through a fence) and room for variety trials. Starfighter, Panisse are always in the mix, Sparx, New Red Fire, and heat tolerant Muir round out this week’s group.
