how are people thinking about personal channels post-pivot?

My strategy post pivot: 

go hard in the paint

I believe they’re making it possible to add people programmatically (ie exposing some API or something?)

So if that’s true then yea I might just add everyone who’s posted before, or maybe everyone I follow, something like that

But that could change based on the implementation. Like eg if it notifies people when you add them, then I don’t really want to abuse that. So we’ll see

How do you plan to do this? Like literally cast out the invite link? Or go through manually and DC people who have posted before?

Prolly will just add everyone to it and see what happens

Think I’m out on personal channels

Not much reason to cast in them vs. to your home feed (followers) unless you’re really leaning into building a community around your personal brand (most people aren’t)

I do enjoy the lens of them being like a Facebook wall where friends can post “to” you (a bit different than tagging you) but don’t think that’s enough of a benefit on its own

I think even the most successful ones (all of the ones you mentioned besides me above) will struggle to grow once channel memberships are a thing

*unless* they choose to explicitly define their community a la Club Ted (but not sure that’s the vibe in most cases tbh)

Most people shouldn’t have one unless they’re trying to be an influencer or creator and even then it’s questionable in my mind
