Arizona creates a statewide bitcoin reserve
Arizona Governor Kathy Hobbs signed nto law a bill creating a bitcoin fund and new rules for handling abandoned digital assets.
Now:
- digital assets are recognized as abandoned after 3 years with no connection to the owner;
- they are turned over to the government in native form;
- the state can steak them and get airdrops;
- all revenue goes into a bitcoin reserve.
Arizona is the first US state that will officially store crypto in its original form.
