Just toured Texas’ only dual laser IMAX theater
Sadly no pictures/video were allowed, but I did have a blast and learned a few things!
- The screen is 8 stories wide by 6 stories tall
- Each projector cost $1m, and there are 2, this doesn’t include screen and audio
- With film, you don’t get the super rich blacks that you get digitally (preference init)
- Hybrid IMAX film/laser systems exist but are rare, and are most likely the future
