What makes Lighter special?
- Project development began 3 years ago
- After the FTX collapse, it became clear: a verifiable, transparent, and most importantly, secure DEX is needed
- From spot trading → to perpetuals at traders’ request
- LLP pools: initially private, later opened to the community, likely after TGE
Why specifically ZK Rollup?
- AMM is not suitable for active markets
- Optimistic rollups - do not provide the necessary speed and fairness
Lighter uses ZK rollups with custom schemes for trading and risk management.
