🚨IMPORTANT UPDATE: Complete App Restructure
We're excited to announce a major transformation of Blockx app.
This isn't just an update, it's a complete reimagining of how you interact with your Blockx and connect with your Neighbors (the one who sharing with you the same Node-Blocks) on the other side of Blockx.
🟢 New Three-Section Architecture
Blockx now features a streamlined navigation system with three core sections, accessible via a persistent bottom navigation bar:
1. HOME
Your central hub for all primary Blockx operations.
2. CONNECTIONS - The Heart of Blockx
This is where the magic happens. The Connections page introduces a revolutionary way to discover and connect with your block neighbors on Base. Here's how it works:
-Find Block Neighbors
Select any block you own, and Blockx will automatically identify your four adjacent neighbors:
↑ TOP — The block directly above yours (same letter, number -1)
↓ BOTTOM — The block directly below yours (same letter, number +1)
← LEFT — The block to your left (letter -1, same number)
→ RIGHT — The block to your right (letter +1, same number)
Example: If you own block C2, your neighbors are:
Top: C1
Bottom: C3
Left: B2
Right: D2
- Real-Time Blockchain Discovery
Once you select a block, Blockx queries the Alchemy API to identify the owners of these adjacent blocks using on-chain traits (letter + number combinations).
The system then cross-references these wallet addresses with our Supabase database to check if the owners have verified their Farcaster identities.
- Three Types of Neighbors
✅Verified Neighbors
Owners who have completed identity verification through "Reveal My Key"
Displays their Farcaster username, profile picture, and wallet address
You can CONNECT with them or SHARE a cast about your shared adjacency
⚠️Unverified Neighbors
Owners who hold the block but haven't verified their identity yet
Shows only their wallet address (0x1234...5678)
Message: "This neighbor hasn't verified their identity yet"
🚫 Unclaimed Blocks
Blocks that haven't been minted yet
Status: "BLOCK_NOT_MINTED_YET"
💬 Connection Requests
When you click CONNECT on a verified neighbor:
-A connection request is sent to their account.
-They receive a notification in their Farcaster notifications.
-The button changes to "✓ REQUEST SENT" to prevent duplicates.
-You receive a terminal-style toast notification confirming the request was sent.
-When they accept your request:
Both of you appear in each other's "Your Connections" list.
You can now view each other's profiles and share updates, A celebration notification confirms the connection
📣 Share Feature
The SHARE button allows you to publish a cast on Farcaster that:
Tags your neighbor by their username ,Mentions your shared, block adjacency, Includes a link to Blockx.Invites them to connect with you on the platform.
📋 Your Connections
Below the neighbor finder, you'll see all your accepted connections, neighbors you've successfully connected with. This list grows as you build your Blockx network!
3. 👤 PROFILE
Your personal Blockx dashboard featuring:
🟢Block ownership count and individual block IDs.
🟢Total connections with other verified users.
🟢BLOCKX token balance (read directly from the ERC20 contract on Base).
🟢Farcaster profile information synced from your verified identity.
