It's worth it if you can build up a network and line up the calls. Let's say you plan for like 1 month out and reach out to all of your founder friends to ask for intros. IMO it's less necessary at early stage and is more helpful for closing investors who are already warm and thinking about investing.

Tbh I think the network effects of react native are really significant for development, especially when it comes to AI tooling. And with the release of the new architecture (basically a rewrite of react native) and Expo 53, there should be a significant performance bump.

+1 to small funds, especially on the crypto side. Have seen founders who are terrified to launch their products because the expectations associated with a big name big check investor are too high to meet. Not even convinced that we’re going to need billion dollar growth funds in the age of AI…

Both of these books are also fantastic stories of American ingenuity. They show how quickly markets change when well thought out government policies are paired with the right incentives for businesses to innovate.

Earlier this year, Leopold Ashenbrenner’s podcast with Dwarkesh on the race for Superintelligence sent me into a bit of a pessimistic spiral… For anyone else concerned about the risks of AGI, I’ve found the “The New Map” and “Chip War” to be immensely helpful for understanding what will constrain AI.

I’ve been moving all of my albos to Leca or Pon so my roommates can keep them alive easier when I’m traveling, soil has been a nightmare for me… don’t want to deal with bugs and over/under watering
