yes i love markdown. vs code/cursor have the preview in-app which is very slick. google docs also supports markdown now!

Not open source but iA Writer for Mac has good auto-complete and for some elements, UI for the bits your forget or need a hand with and customisable previews and export options.

Yes! Either using Zed, Neovim, or Raycast: Zed: Longterm writing like blog posts Raycast: When I just have a quick thought or need to paste something for a min Neovim: Manually editing files in repos or my desktop, kinda in between the other two apps and workflows
