Diogenes of Sinope (412–323 BCE) was a Greek philosopher and one of the founders of Cynicism. Known for his sharp wit and unconventional lifestyle, he rejected material wealth and social status, believing that happiness comes from living simply and in harmony with nature. Diogenes often used humor and public acts to challenge societal norms famously carrying a lantern in daylight, saying he was "looking for an honest man." His radical ideas about freedom, virtue, and self-sufficiency still inspire thinkers today.
