I like new shiny tech as much as the next guy, but Stripe only feels comfortable calling this ‘crypto’ because it’s their sanitized version of it.
I’ve been building in this space a long time and seen a lot of L1s come and go.
Tempo does feel different.
It reminds me of what Ethereum might look like with a Solana Labs-style BD and product focus. They understand their customers and they’re building for them with real intent.
They’re making opinionated decisions at the base layer, and those come with tradeoffs.
What you call ‘crypto’ might not be what other people call ‘crypto’. Worth remembering.
A trend we’re going to see more of: the dilution of what ‘crypto’ means.
