Smart contracts are deterministic, but they need external data to do real‑world tasks. Oracles bridge that gap, feeding price feeds, weather, random numbers and off‑chain events. In DeFi, they unlock lending, derivatives, insurance, and yield farming. Without reliable oracles, the entire ecosystem would be stuck in a sandbox. Trustworthy, decentralized oracles are the backbone of true DeFi.
