Here's the solution to the airdrop issue and how airdrops should be done

>team builds a product pre token TGE - perhaps they never even mention a token being possible, perhaps they even explicitly say it will never happen

>team invites people to use their product and test it out

>we use their product, beta testers effectively

>surprise airdrop to people who used the product

I think both ways can work. Look at Farcade or Farville - fun games, don’t need a token to play, potential future airdrop might reward users who contributed to success. Great! 

But something like Celo added to Farcaster, the airdrop actually provides the fuel to use the mini apps etc. otherwise it’s unlikely to get interaction since many people wouldn’t have the needed token to even use the thing. 

No one size fits all solution.

I look at it like cable packages 

They always give a new great deal to new users and screw over people who have used them in the past, and that leads to them being generally hated lmao

That’s how most have been done in the past. But if the goal is to get users, the airdrop can also be that incentive. Retro works but also leads to big sell offs usually.

My solution for this should be if you want to sell it you must clear some mission from them  either hold 3-7 days, play their mini game, make a volume of trade, etc after all of that is finish you can sell 50% of the airdrop and hold the rest so you are eligible for next airdrop

Kinda fair right? 
-Dev got people testing their product
-People know more about dev project
-To make sure the token didn't dump we let them hold 3-7 days first and then we allow them to sell if they sell all disqualified for next airdrop 
-if they hold 50% of the airdrop they are qualified
- every 4 airdrop you are allowed to sell 2 
So you got 2 airdrop sell 50% from both hold until 2 more airdrop land then you can sell the previous 2

You suggested an old model, it won't work with all mini applications, only with those who have fees for services!

Yeah this is pretty much the Tipn playbook 

There’s a slight variation on the “surprise” side of the token allo to early uses but this approach really feels like a more optimal way for apps to approach tge for their appcoins 

Ofc a lot is still tbd and rubber needs to hit the road but were here for the experimentation

That's what Arbitrum did. And the cool thing is that I actually used Arbitrum not to farm Airdrops, but because I liked it. The old model is great.

It may be conventional, but it’s a reward system that is practically well-founded — an airdrop standard.
