sorry for the delay
honestly I think some things are just out of anyone’s control - like a couple brand new farcaster specific tokens that take off and that everyone could coalesce around for one, right now all the biggest tokens are from “old”
Farcaster, have histories, drama, supply overhang or other issues
from a product standpoint I get that they were trying to pivot to a trading app/wallet because the previous model wasn’t working, but the problem with that is that a lot of people, like myself, don’t like “publicly” trading or having people watch our wallets, so already a significant portion of your user base, and one I’d argue has the most money -which is the most significant if you’re trying to make fees too - is disinterested
couple that with the fact that people LOVE and are loyal to their wallets, I just don’t think there’s enough differentiation with a Farcaster wallet to make it worthwhile to pursue
It’s also just generally been a somewhat unwelcoming place to the “regular” Joe, the non builders. It’s always in your face one way or another that the app and community caters to that, which is fine, but there is an elitist attitude about it
Also there’s no shared ownership or equity between farcaster and the community - if those interests were more aligned and the community held ownership of the company / protocol, then we are all on the same page and benefitting from putting work in here
We need to make shitposting great again, share ownership in the spirit of crypto, focus less on “social trading” (lol) and lean back towards the other social stuff. Loved @eriks product hunt idea
