Here is a detailed explanation of what zama achieved today with this new milestone. FHE just got a massive speed boost with @zama latest breakthrough which is the TFHE bootstrapping in less one millisecond. I know most of you will be wondering what bootstrapping is, let's get into it. In Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), bootstrapping refreshes ciphertexts so they can keep being computed on without decrypting. It’s the most expensive step and historically, a big performance bottleneck. .@zama just cut bootstrapping latency for 4 bit messages to <1ms on GPU, at full 128 bit security. That’s a 50×+ speedup compared to the previous one which was a ~53ms runtime. And it’s not just fast, it’s the fastest ever reported for TFHE bootstrapping. With zama going sub millisecond, it means that FHE is finally fast enough for real use in private DeFi, confidential AI, even secure multi party compute. Privacy tech is finally catching up with what Web3 needs.
