Coinbase Pushes Toward an “Everything App” With Global Base App Launch
Dec. 17th marks a major push by Coinbase into a consumer facing “everything app” with the global rollout of the Base App.
Several official posts describe it as a unified place for social interaction, instant trading, payments, and multiple creator monetization primitives all built natively on the Base stack. This launch arrives as part of Coinbase broader system update which also includes U.S stock trading features and prediction markets in the main Coinbase app.
The Base team and community channels have also been actively posting teasers and status updates around Dec 18, and base status page also lists scheduled mainnet parameter changes today.
