- I felt (and still do feel) that being homeschooled affected my personal relationship with both my parents and younger sister differently than someone who attended school in a more traditional setting. It meant that I was home with my mom and sister every day, all day, except for my extracurricular activities. Where traditional students had a break from family/home life to go to school and socialize, I didn’t have that and really struggled with that. I know that sibling rivalry is often natural, but feel that rivalry and conflict was amplified being home together. The same goes for my relationship with my mom. I say this with love, but sometimes as a high school girl you just need a break from your parents to figure some life out on your life as you grown into your own person. I know that this affected my view on relationships as an adult and my sister’s differently as well.
