why are you on farcaster? what's the unique value you're getting here that you can't get on twitter, tiktok, instagram, etc? curious to hear from both active creators and users that consume more than create (lurkers)

I love the concept of a decentralized social media experience. Being able to take my friends across different platforms is beautiful. I intend to use the base social platform and I won’t have to be starting from scratch 🙃. Also well done @dashapp 👌🏾

As a builder and data engineer: 1. There are some fantastic signals here and opportunities to create new businesses with the mix of crypto and social information. Not only is this great for B2B relationships but B2C where you can make some interesting synergies. 2. It's all in the open and wild, and free for anyone to use. 3. If you build it I can be somewhat assured I can't be rugpulled by a later corporate decision to block out data access.

Reach is better and more targeted. Though I’ll admit that’s gotten watered down a bit as the network has grown, which is expected. So I am on Farcaster because I was an early adopter and reaped the benefits of being early.

Hmm. Good question. It piqued my interest when friends kept mentioning it in group chats, so here I am, onboarded yesterday. The more I explore the app, the more it looks like a mixed reddit x Twitter which is cool. I can see myself sharing my poetries and other things I enjoy in this platform. Don’t get me wrong, I love other social medias as well as I used to post all my poetries in IG, but that’s it, it was designed for poetry works only. As for X, I mostly focus on games there. On tiktok, there is so much toxicity there. So, to sum it all up, as a person who has a variety of interests, this platform can cater everything I wanted to share and view.

better question imo is why other ppl aren’t joining farcaster, the crowd here seems very niche/careerist at least from my experience and it feels like linkedin in a lot of ways which i think turns ppl off dash is coming along great btw the search and scroll through an accts vids is an awesome feature

I'm on Farcaster because it's like Twitter, but without the bots, the ragebait, and Elon’s daily mood swings. Real conversations way less noise, more signal. Feels like early crypto Twitter before the influencers got VC funding and stopped replying. Builders > clout chasers, on Farcaster, people care more about shipping than simping.
