Was $MOXIE a rug or did it just die a natural death?

OK the 80s-era ending was very well done, but it was brief and didn't tie things together as much as I would have liked. I appreciate how these art films try to leave gaps to be filled in by the viewers, but this one just feels clumsy.

Going to try to watch the end tonight. Opinion may change I suppose. I admit I have a short attention span.

The Brutalist was brutally boring. Fell asleep before it was over.

Don't think I need it either but unlike Twitter, I'm happy to support Farcaster, so I'll probably subscribe.

Arthur is so articulate, but also (I think) very very wrong. We'll see I guess. I like that he makes reasonably falsifiable predictions.

In the US we're so wildly separated by suburban sprawl, mega-highways and (what I'd guess to be) a higher average distance from family especially among the higher educated due to employer demands. Anecdotally, there's just not a lot else other than church that can provide a social outlet for many.

And no flashblocks are not the same as Solana "shreds". Flashblocks are genuine precommitments, though to be fair they are centralized precommitments. L2s get shit for being "centralized" but their limited centralization can provide real user benefits with only a sliver of additional trust.

To elaborate a bit, before I moved on from Base, we were curious about Unichain's work. I argued the TEE aspects of Unichain were (mostly a waste of time & resources. Flashblocks however made a ton of sense, and Base is close to launching it (already on testnet as I understand). https://blog.uniswap.org/rollup-boost-is-live-on-unichain

But even if an EVM chain can do 1000 tx/sec, there will be applications that require performance no general purpose chain can deliver (see Hyperliquid). That's what interests me currently. The world isn't going to run on a single chain, that's just silly!

Depends on your focus area I guess. When I was on Base it was EVM scaling. There's no good reason EVM chains (especially L2s) can't perform in the same league as Solana. Why spend multiple years on reducing L2 MEV by .69% when you can make an EMV chain do 1000+ txs per second?

True. Being a little tongue in cheek because of the latest wave of papers I see freaking out over priority ordering by L2s. There are like 1000 other things far more important to worry about.
