📈 The gap in market value between Alphabet and Amazon is approaching $1 trillion
Alphabet (Google) and Amazon have long been in close competition in market capitalization. Although Alphabet led initially until 2018, the two companies were virtually neck-and-neck for several years. By the end of 2024, both companies' market capitalizations reached approximately $2.3 trillion, following virtually identical growth paths.
The situation changed dramatically in 2025. From August to November 17, Alphabet's market value increased by 33.5%, reaching $3.45 trillion, becoming the fourth company in history to surpass the $3 trillion mark. Amazon's value fell by 1.9%, reaching $2.49 trillion. Result: the valuation gap has widened and is approaching $1 trillion.
