My friends who grew up on the margins understand privacy better than my privileged friends. If you aren’t privileged you never know when law enforcement is going to use a random tidbit of information to punish you.

💯 Unfortunately it usually takes something bad happening to someone before they understand the importance of privacy. Also, the easiest way to truly understand the importance of freedom and privacy is to have an experience where both are taken from you or someone you love, usually by agents of the state.
