Are Solo Leveling and Frieren the only anime deeply worth watching so far this year?

I would actually suggest My Hero Academia, if you didn't already.

The whole concept, characters, plot and early development/art style really didn't interest me and I started watching out of boredom and curiosity about where the hype was about..

I must say, I was amazed by the show's capability and sudden plots.

What’s especially wonderful about MHA that’s actually really hard to do is to create that much depth with that many characters

I like the manga but I think the anime is done better.

I read the manga, although I’m admittedly a little behind. Love MHA.

MHA anime gets really good later on too. Starts a bit mid but the latest seasons had me tearing up every episode.
