“For the Estonian coordinator, a small victory came when it issued an order under the DSA instructing Telegram to block access to 14 Russian media outlets included in the EU sanctions list. The company complied, but only after three months. ‘Three months is not acceptable when we’re talking about sanctioned content,’ Rohtla said. Still, it set a precedent – a small national regulator compelling a global platform to act under EU law. The sanctioned channels are no longer accessible anywhere in the EU.”
