Today, as I get my room ready for the first day of school on Monday, I am attending virtual training. Subjects include abuse, neglect, cybersecurity, sexual harassment, title nine compliance, bloodborne pathogens, choking emergencies, cultural competence & racial bias, de-escalation, mental health, and so on.
Examples of emotional abuse include:
• rejection
• name-calling
• making excessive demands
• exposure to family violence
• blaming
• threatening severe punishment
