Some people take the bait and get deceived. Apologists emphasize individual responsibility; opponents, the leaders’ duty of care. They might both be right, but as usual they talk past each other, so it’s all sterile grunts. The masses forget within 36 hours anyway, as the next shiny object (most likely, some new token) diverts their attention. The sun keeps rising in the east. Some anti-China pundit claims it’s fake news.
