It’s calculated by Neynar not Farcaster itself and helps projects and mini apps detect trusted vs. suspicious accounts. New users start at 0.5. The score is recalculated weekly, based on how your interactions and activity add value to the network. Key points: Not proof of humanity: It doesn’t directly check whether you’re human, it checks for patterns of quality, value, and reputation. Distinguishes quality: It uses activity signals to separate authentic/reputable users from spammy or low-signal ones—including those using bots or mass AI content. Not directly controlled: Users can’t “apply” to change their score, and there’s no public formula. Can affect app access: Some mini apps require a minimum Neynar Score (often 0.55+) to participate.
