It’s hard to even imagine what would happen to us today if many millennia ago people had not appreciated the power and beneficial properties of fire and learned how to make it. Fearing the initially unbridled element of fire, primitive man realized over time that fire could bring warmth and light to his cold, gloomy home, protect him from predatory animals, and food cooked on fire would be much softer and tastier. Millennia passed until man invented various ways to independently produce fire. To light a fire, he struck sparks by striking iron with a stone; made fire by rubbing pieces of wood against each other, drilling, and rotating a pointed stick in the recess of a piece of dry wood. Over time, the process was improved, and the area of use of fire expanded.
