Who Was There?
Who was there when the night seemed endless,
When shadows whispered doubt to your soul?
Who stood steadfast, a calming presence,
When the storms of life threatened your control?
Who said, "I'll be there," and truly was,
Not in words, but in actions that heal?
Who lifted you when the world grew heavy,
Turning your burden into something unreal?
It's not about those who cheer in your triumphs,
Or dance in the light of your fleeting success.
It’s about the hands that reach in your darkness,
The hearts that give when you have less.

There's also the unspoken expectation to navigate difficult situations alone, whether it’s financial struggles, career pressures, or the weight of being a role model for others.
Moreover, men face societal criticism in areas where they falter, but little recognition in areas where they excel. The difficulties of navigating relationships, balancing personal goals with family responsibilities, and dealing with the stigma around asking for help only add to the burden.
It’s important to recognize that men are human too, with limits and vulnerabilities, and they deserve spaces where their challenges are acknowledged, validated, and supported.

I've Come To Realize that Being a man in today’s world comes with its unique set of challenges, many of which society often overlooks or trivializes. Men are often expected to be strong, resilient, and dependable at all times, shouldering the burden of providing for themselves and, in many cases, their families. This includes working hard to survive, sustain, and create a stable foundation, often while suppressing their own struggles or emotions because society teaches them that vulnerability equates to weakness.
The pressure to constantly achieve and meet societal standards of success can be overwhelming, leading many men to struggle with mental health issues like stress, anxiety, and depression—issues that are too often dismissed or ignored.

According to studies, one of the leading causes of marital struggles and even divorce is a lack of communication and unrealistic expectations. As Gary Chapman aptly puts it in The Five Love Languages, 'Love is a choice you make every day.' This choice becomes sustainable only when individuals understand the nitty-gritty of marriage—how to handle conflict, manage finances, and grow together spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
The biblical principle in Amos 3:3 asks, 'Can two walk together, except they be agreed?' This underscores the importance of shared values, goals, and an understanding of roles in marriage. Young couples need guidance and preparation to navigate the intricacies of life together, lest they find themselves ill-equipped to handle the reality of a lifelong commitment."
