Unsatisfied with status quo, g0v began in '12 when a team competing in Yahoo’s Open Hack Day switched from online shopping project to a site that visualized TW government budget was being spent.
With the prize from hack day, "g0v Hackath0n" (next one is 61!) was born, promoting FOSS and OS ethos.
