To continue pearl story: the Susa Pearls, the world's oldest pearl necklace, were discovered in the bronze sarcophagus of a Persian princess. The necklace is from approximately 420 BC. It contains 216 pearls across three rows, bound with bronze wire. It has been preserved and is on display at the Louvre.
