Had an interesting breakfast conversation today about Web3 sales and how to actually manage them. So if you’re a founder or BD leader, let me ask you this: How many conversations are ongoing right now? “Lots”? But lots is not a number.
Most times, in the name of a pipeline, what we have is just a crumbling Telegram inbox. Here’s how to fix this. Core principles: – Being busy ≠ being productive – Having a Telegram group ≠ being in an active conversation – What gets measured gets managed – If you’re not tracking your pipeline with real numbers - ratios, timelines, decay, you’re just guessing.
Let’s break it down. Step 1: Know the exact number of live conversations Across Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, email, however your team operates. Count everything. Don’t estimate. That number is your live pipeline. Most people have absolutely no idea what this is.
Step 2: Log everything Use Excel, Airtable, Notion, whatever works for you. Log each conversation with: – Owner – Project name – Date the conversation started – Last activity date – Current stage (Lead → Qualified → Proposal → Negotiation → Closed Won / Lost / Dropped) You now have a somewhat structured funnel.
