Can Ethereum’s Danksharding Significantly Improve Rollup Performance? Yes, Danksharding is designed to massively enhance Rollup scalability by increasing data availability on Ethereum. Unlike traditional sharding, it introduces a single proposer and "blobs"—large chunks of data that Rollups can use to post transaction proofs cheaply. This drastically reduces the cost per transaction for Layer 2s, enabling Rollups to process more users and data with lower fees. With EIP-4844 (proto-danksharding) as the first step, Ethereum is already laying the groundwork.
