Classic /neckbeard'ism: My phone kept restarting last week, every few minutes. Felt unusually hot, too. Tried uninstalling a few apps or wiping their storage/cache, to no avail. I figured it was time for a factory reset because somewhere along the way, some configuration or storage must've got fucked. But then I remembered "adb logcat"... if you plug your Android with a data cable to a computer, enable developer mode on the phone and install the adb tools (part of Android SDK), you can pipe serial logs to /cli. So that's what I did, and was able to isolate a ton of constant errors coming from Google Play Services. Wiped the storage & cache for that service, and it's fixed the phone--no factory reset required. πŸ™ One of those rare cases where being a /neckbeard actually saved me time! https://developer.android.com/tools/logcat
