Is anybody else really fucking pissed off that Ubuntu 25.10 with the default Gnome desktop has dropped Xorg support completely, and forces you to use Wayland?

Synergy is completely busted with Wayland. This simply won't do. 😾

Guess it's time to install XFCE or LXDE. Dang. Absolute bullshittery.

Consider Pop!_OS. Ubuntu based, but removes a bunch of Canonical's shenanigans.

Yup, hoping on the same. I’m getting back into Ubuntu after a while soon so that’s good to know but equally annoying.

They do, but... it's experimentally totally fucking broken with 25.10. Sigh. Even before 25.10, it was buggy as fuck and I had to turn Wayland off.

I really wish they'd look to properly support Wayland.

Didn’t Synergy have experimental Wayland support? Thought I saw that as a blog post a while ago

Xorg was the "old" rendering engine. Wayland is the "new" way. They started introducing it like 8 years ago.

But honestly I still find Xorg is far more compatible and works better than Wayland.

I read about them dropping Xorg but too much of a n00b to understand what that means 🙊😅

Doesnt that fuck over a lot of people with Nvidia GPUs, since Wayland is still kinda trash on Nvdidia GPUs?
