on weekly planning stop-loss orders are a good comparison: they secure some upside, deal with volatility (real circumstances) and with mood swings (perceived circs) the problem with planning creative work and content: planning is boring and must be done at times of low energy, bad mood or little time fears - my current state will prevent me from having good ideas, so I will only schedule boring stuff - new, better and more relevant ideas will present themselves on the day, at the right moment, so I have to leave empty slots for those reality - this is the calm before the storm: I might be a bit down right now, but it's much better than trying to chart a course in the middle of things - new ideas are not guaranteed, they might be worse than the ones I can think of right now or come too late / at a bad moment - if i have better ideas at the right time, i can always swap them in - mid ideas today can improve (and i'll have time to get what i need for executing on them)
