I work with leaders in high-stakes situations for decades and this is what I have learned: - there are 8-10% true psycho/sociopaths/dark Machiavellian types out there (he doesn't seem to be one of them) - there are leaders who become wilfully blind bc the incentive structures nudge them towards protecting what they build (could be the case here) It might be a case where one part of him (IFS - Inner Family System) felt too "exiled" and had to come out of the closet (at Farcon) and the "protector" lost the inner battle and the rest is now history. He said in the post mortem back then he hates lying and I believe him. Sadly, he continued lying, and it usually comes out.
