April 23, 2011 — Satoshi Nakamoto stepped away from Bitcoin.
No big announcement. Just a quiet exit.
After that, there was no clear leader anymore. It just kept going, maintained by the people who believed in it.
That’s still the strange part of Bitcoin to me — it works without someone in charge.
Even newer ecosystems like Base are still trying to figure out how to scale without losing that idea.
